Laurence Owen Ltd provides environmental engineering and building services analysis, design & advice, from small scale consultancy and feasibility studies to large detailed designs. The practice strives to design sustainable building services which are in perfect harmony with the architecture of a building.
Heritage and historic buildings are a key focus for the practice. Specialist expertise also includes lighting, daylight and environmental design, complementing robust practice of mechanical and electrical fundamentals.
Current and completed work includes projects at: Westminster Abbey, Exeter College in Oxford, Coventry Cathedral, Westminster School, The Royal Geographical Society, Nunhead Cemetery, Great Ormond Street, West Norwood Cemetery and The Grange Centre for People with Disabilities.
With expertise across mechanical and electrical engineering and environmental design, founder and director Laurence Owen MEng CEng MIET MIMechE was formerly a partner at leading building services consultants Max Fordham LLP, where he successfully led and delivered a number of exciting and challenging projects including Westminster Abbey: The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Galleries & Weston Tower (the "most significant addition since 1745") and the Juergen Teller Studio (shortlisted for the Stirling Prize, RIBA London Building of the Year 2017 award).
